Drinking Games for 2 — Best Two-Player Games
You only need two people and something to drink. These 12+ drinking games are designed specifically for two players — from quick card games to full-evening entertainment.
Higher or Lower
The simplest card drinking game. Guess if the next card is higher or lower. Wrong? Drink.
Rules
- Flip one card face-up.
- The guesser predicts: will the next card be higher or lower?
- Guess right? The other person drinks. Guess wrong? You drink.
- Tie? Both drink.
- Get 3 in a row? Your opponent takes a double.
- Swap who guesses after every 5 cards or after a wrong guess.
Speed Facts
Rapid-fire facts about each other. Hesitate or get it wrong? Drink.
Rules
- One person is the 'asker', the other is the 'answerer'.
- The asker fires off questions: favorite color, middle name, biggest fear, etc.
- The answerer has 3 seconds to respond.
- Hesitate, say 'I don't know', or answer wrong? Drink.
- Switch roles after 10 questions.
- The person who drank less wins the round.
Quarters
Bounce a coin into a glass. Make it? Your opponent drinks. The original skill-based drinking game.
Rules
- Place a shot glass in the center of the table.
- Take turns bouncing a coin off the table into the glass.
- Make it? Your opponent drinks.
- Miss? Turn passes.
- Make 3 in a row? Create a rule the other person must follow.
- If either person knocks over the glass, they finish their drink.
Beer Pong (1v1)
The classic, scaled down for two. Use 6 cups per side instead of 10.
Rules
- Set up 6 cups in a triangle (3-2-1) on each end of a table.
- Take turns throwing a ping pong ball at the opponent's cups.
- Ball lands? Opponent drinks that cup and removes it.
- You get one re-rack per game.
- Clear all opponent cups to win. Loser finishes remaining cups.
Flip, Sip, or Strip
Flip a coin and guess heads or tails. Wrong? Choose to sip or strip. Bold and simple.
Rules
- Flip a coin and call it in the air — heads or tails.
- Guess right? Your opponent flips next.
- Guess wrong? Choose to either take a sip or remove an article of clothing.
- You cannot choose the same option three times in a row.
- The game continues until someone decides to stop.
- Best played between close friends or couples.
Truth or Dare (Drinking Edition)
Classic truth or dare, but refusing means drinking. Use our app for endless prompts.
Rules
- Take turns choosing Truth or Dare.
- Refuse a truth? Take 2 drinks.
- Refuse a dare? Take 3 drinks.

Would You Rather (Drinking)
Ask impossible 'would you rather' questions. If you both pick the same answer, you both drink.
Rules
- Take turns asking 'Would You Rather' questions.
- Both players answer at the same time (count of 3).
- If you both chose the SAME option, you both drink.
- If you chose DIFFERENT options, nobody drinks.
- Refuse to answer? Finish your drink.

The Staring Contest
Lock eyes. First to blink, laugh, or look away drinks. Simple, intense, surprisingly hard.
Rules
- Sit face to face.
- Lock eyes on the count of three.
- First person to blink, laugh, look away, or speak loses and drinks.
- Winner gets to ask the loser one question they must answer honestly.
- Best of 5 rounds for a full game.
Power Hour (Duo Edition)
Take a shot of beer every 60 seconds for an hour. The person who quits first loses.
Rules
- Set a timer or use a Power Hour playlist (song changes every 60 seconds).
- Every time the song changes, both players take a shot of beer.
- 60 shots over 60 minutes — roughly 6 beers.
- First person to skip a shot, spill, or quit loses.
- The loser faces a dare chosen by the winner.
Drunk Jenga
Write rules or dares on Jenga blocks. Pull a block, do what it says. Knock it over? Finish your drink.
Rules
- Write different rules on each Jenga block: 'Take 2 sips', 'Truth time', 'Dare', 'Make a rule', etc.
- Play Jenga as normal — pull a block, read the rule, do it.
- If you knock over the tower, finish your entire drink.
- Add some blank blocks for 'safe' pulls.
- Rewrite blocks between games for variety.
Never Have I Ever (2 Player)
Say something you've never done. If the other person has done it, they drink.
Rules
- Take turns saying 'Never have I ever...' followed by something you've never done.
- If your opponent HAS done it, they drink.
- If you've BOTH done it, you both drink.
- If neither has done it, the person who said it drinks (bad question penalty).

Battle Shots
Battleship, but with shots. Sink your opponent's ships by guessing coordinates. A hit means they drink.
Rules
- Each player sets up a grid (like Battleship) and places shot glasses on it as 'ships'.
- Take turns calling out coordinates (A3, B5, etc.).
- If a coordinate hits a shot glass, your opponent drinks it.
- First person to sink all opponent's ships wins.
- The loser finishes any remaining shots on their board.
